Yachtmaster (Power) Exam preparation and mile-building

Yachtmaster (Power) Exam preparation and mile-building

From £129, based out of Fowey.

The Yachtmaster (Power) is a major milestone in the Royal Yachting Association Motor Cruising scheme, and is assessed in a one day examination by a senior RYA Instructor who is additionally authorised to examine candidates.  The examiner is looking for candidates who can provide a safe and comfortable journey to their passengers, run a seaworthy vessel, conduct a safe and accurate passage plan and be able to respond effectively to emergencies while afloat.  Throughout the exam, the candidate will be called upon to show their knowledge of the Yachtmaster (Power) syllabus and to put it to use when making decisions as skipper.

Fowey Maritime Centre can provide bespoke coaching and refresher training towards all parts of the Yachtmaster (Power) syllabus with their qualified and experienced instructors, allowing you to have confidence in your strengths and to develop areas for improvement before the big day.   Coaching can be focused on any syllabus area, from theory in the classroom to practical application afloat using our commercially-coded Fairline Targa 34 motor cruiser.

Bespoke mile-building passages towards the 2500 nautical mile minimum for YM (Power) are available on request.
